Question 1: How Much Area is Covered with a Tank Load?
Answer: Thin soupy hydro-seeding can easily cover as much as 20,000 with 1,000 gallons of application. However, premium hydro-mulching requires as much as 1,000 gallons of slurry to cover about 6,000 square feet with an appropriate mulch application to produce a "Sod Quality Results" lawn.
Question 2: How Much Does Hydroseeding Cost?
Answer: The materials (mulch, seed, and fertilizer) for a thin, soupy hydro-seeding application can easily cost less than 1¢ a square foot. However, premium hydro-mulching requires a better mulch product, a heavier mulch application, and tackifiers to minimize the risks of erosion. The materials for "Sod Quality Results" hydro-mulching can easily cost at least 3¢ a square foot or more.
Question 3: How Much Do Contractors Charge for Hydroseeding?
Answer: There are many job sites where "Sod Quality Results" are not necessary. On jobs of one acre or more, such jobs may be priced at 3¢ a square foot or less.
On small home lawn jobs, where "Sod Quality Results" hydro-mulching is required, 10¢ a square foot is minimum, and 15¢ a square foot is not uncommon.
